Knossos is a "must see" from here. Archaeolgical museum also very interesting, historical museum a bit less so.

First you must try the greek ice coffee on the slope of Plaka near Acropolis. Most destinations can be reached by walking. You get to see more of the city. Make sure you have good shoes. Plaka is a good place to try Greek meals. Maybe pricy but good ambience. Take the one day islands tour on the last days to relax your tired feet and also enjoy the better parts of Greece. We took the slow train ride from Athens to Patra. Interesting sceneries.

Taxis are really bad and unpredictable. Traffic is horrendous.
