If you are visiting HK for more than 1 day, try getting an Normal Optopus card instead cost HK$150 (HK$50 as deposits) as you can used in most of the transportation, ie MTR, bus, ferry, peak tram, minivan, McDonald, 7-Eleven for food etc. Min Top up is around HK$100 in MTR station HK$50 at 7-Eleven. Airport express shuttle bus costing HK$100/pax is another good option as it stops/fetches you directly from major hotels, however it takes around 45min-1hr. I took it and for me it goes to 3 hotel destinations in Wanchai region. You can see the suspended bridge if you took the bus but not the MTR/express train from airport.

Hong Kong was fantastic - an excellent and cheap public transport system ensures you can get about and see the sights with minimum fuss and at a low cost though Taxis are very reasonable too. Night life is superb with Lan Kwai Fong sporting some super bars and excellent places to eat in Soho. A 'must' would be 'Jaspers' excellent a la carte menu with super prices. Wan Chai provides some other good pubs but be wary of the clubs - a club has a different meaning in Hong Kong to the UK!!!!

If you have time, take the one hour ferry ride to Macau and have dinner at the 60 story observation tower, the view is spectacular! We discovered this by accident, but thought it was the highlight of the trip. The town square and shopping area is fun also.

Hong Kong is where I met my (future) missus 22 years ago. So, this place has a special meaning for us whenever we return to visit. We took the A12 airport bus there and A11 bus on the return trip. Efficient and convenient if you do not have too much luggage. Spent much time at Wanchai, which is about 10 minutes walk away. Also enjoyed Central, Victoria Peak at night, and the many street stalls.
I think it pays to be cautious, even somewhat overly. Met a man who just walked up to me and said "you are a very lucky man". "Oh really?" The next moment, he was trying to show me his namecard. No thanks. On another occasion, a woman came flying to the seat next to me at a park. Sobbing, I could see. I thought to myself, what if she suddenly clinged on to me and start a scene while her hands searched for my wallet? I walked away the next minute.

The Hong Kong Museum of History is excellent to get an overview of the history and development of the area. Mixing a dozen a-v presentations, artifacts, and fullscale street scenes, a junk, and other diorama, it brings to life the lives of the various people who form Hong Kong society.

Tai O village at Lantau Island is a good way to get out of Hong Kong busy streets.

The coffee shop was closed most of the time but the restaurant did not hesitate to serve just drinks.
The entry of the hotel is a bit hidden. It is not easy to find it when you arrive for the fist time. Fortunately the bell boys are attentive and show you the way.

Hectic as usual, though a lot of fun. Finding taxi stands difficult. The Star Ferry great as always.
