Stayed at  Hilton Rome Airport - Rome, Italy.
Rome public transportation was excellent, but the streets and traffic were suicide. All information signs for instance at the Castel s'ant Angelo snack bar were either non existent or unhelpful.

Stayed at  Aphrodite, Hotel - Rome, Italy.
What can you say about Rome? Noisy. Heavy traffic. Exhaust fumes. Expensive. Full of beggers, con-artists and pick-pockets. But we loved every minute of it. Must go back for a longer stay.

CLose enough to go into central Rome - there are shuttle buses from the hotel. Only stay here right before or after a flight.

We were on the Globus "Italian Treasures" tour which I would recommend most highly.

I loved Cinque Terre--it was pristine--walking between towns was wonderful. Also people were some of the happiest people I've ever met.

Also absolutely loved Sienna--Duomo and Piaaza.

Florence was hectic but historicals sights are marvelous.

Used hotel at airport between flights. Actual destination was Sicily.

P Kwiatkowski 30 January 2003
Stayed at  Colonna Palace - Rome, Italy.
Rome was less scary than the travel books made it out to be. I had no problem speaking virtually no Italian. The sites are a little bit of a disappointment - all the tourbooks build them up a tad too much. Still, a fantastic amount of history and art in a small area. Oh, and go in January - it'll rain some days, but you'll beat the crowds and it's warm enough.

Y Aoki 03 January 2003
Stayed at  Savoy - Rome, Italy.
Very good!

S Letsoenya 31 December 2002
Stayed at  Express by Holiday Inn Rome East - Rome, Italy.
Rome is a marvelous city to visit. I spent three days but didn't see enough of it. Get yourself a guide to plan your day and keep track of venue's opening times etc. Lovely city, I shall return!
