Well, one has to see Macao once! We hoped for nice chinese furniture but didn't find what we were looking for (spent one afternoon running into every shop we saw!). What we really liked was the food: After two weeks in China we really appreciated the portuguese cuisine.

12 MOP to get to Macau downtown by taxi.

The destination is interesting, convenient to Hong Kong and offers an attractive getaway for weekend jaunts.

Macau is an ideal weekend break destination (easily accessible from hong kong)with lots of restaurants (Mecanese/Portuguese food a speciality) and good wine and port.
Highly recommended if you like visiting temples and museums and enjoy browsing around furniture shops.

The Westin Resort, Macau is bit far away from the main attraction, but they have a special facility of the minibus services in/out of the place. Eventhough, it is bit hassle at night and on peak hours to wait for the hotel minibus and cost quite a lot on taxi. But, it is no hassle at all,if you go for a bite @ Macau's favourite eating place - 'Fernando'.

Good travel destination with Casinos. Private car tour of Macau took about 2 hours.

Hired a mini moke for travel around Macau, easy to find our way around, and re visited Fernando's Restaraunt on Coloane Island [ highly recommended, good food and well priced ].

I found Macau is a good place to get away for acouple of days and yet no hectic travelling is required.
