we made our own way there and back in private transport. It is a handy location as my husband is a pilot at the airport.

There is an abundance of taxis in JB. However, a word of caution regarding taxi-drivers who refuse to charge in accordance to their meters. For most locations within JB, the meter charge should not exceed RM 5 so before getting into the taxi, do ensure that you settle the price with the driver and the price should not exceed RM 5 by too much.

Compared to the Duty Free ZON, City Square was more interesting and had more to offer. The seafood in Johor is really good value for money.

Johor Bahru is typical of Malaysian cities- busy and dirty. However, if travelling with this in mind it can be an interesting destination. It is also great for shopping - especially during the "Mega Sale"!

JB is mostly a business destination as far as I can tell, or a shopping haven for Singaporeans, neither of which categories apply to me (I'm here to visit a library at a college that's a bit out of town). But the city is convenient both to Singapore and to other places in Malaysia so that's an asset.

accessible to singaporeans driving up. taxi fare from jb to the resort is also reasonable

Destination is a bit far out for visitors other than those from Singapore. Surrounding areas very deserted. Suggest to put more facilities (food courts, stalls or even small malls) to entice shoppers who find driving to the nearby town tiresome.

Pretty near to all shopping complexes. The hotel offers shuttle bus services to them, though u can hop onto a cab along the main road.

The Holiday Plaza Shopping Center is just next to the hotel, great deal of stuffs sold there. But if you are want something more upmarket, look elsewhere please.
