Stayed at Corus hotel Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city. The Petronas twin towers is just 5 minutes walk. Jalan Masjid India is 10 minutes drive from the hotel for Indian food lovers. The LRT is just few minutes walk. The hotel provides tours. I had taken a tour to Sunway Lagoon. The tour was interesting but slightly expensive for a family of 4-5 members. My recommendation is if you are 2 members it is cost effective. If not you can hire a taxi to the place which may be cheaper.

The Tour to Batu Caves - operated from the Hotel Lobby - is a good option. The guide on the tour gives some thoughtful insights into the history and culture of Malaysia.

Hotel Mutiara KL is a definitely choice of stay. Minutes away from shopping areas KLCC and Bukit Bintang; clubbing spots. The monorail is just in front of the hotel, so it is very convenient to travel around, minus the at times peak hours terrible traffic jams! However one word of catious. Do get your coach tickets from reputable bus companies! I had a very bad experience at the Pudu Raya bus station. My gf and I was left stranded when we were told that our 12.30am KL-Sin bus had broke down. The bus operators were not helpful at all and simply left us to scramble for help! Luckily, a local girl came to our rescue. She was also stuck at the same terrible situation, and offered to put us up at her place for the night, till we get the next bus, the next morning! We really had to thank our lucky stars! The local Malaysians are actually very warm and helpful. However, I cannot say the same thing about the cunning bus companies at Pudu Raya. We got there again the next morning, and the company where we bought the tickets from, was very rude and at first refuse to accept the reissued tickets! A definitely unpleasant part of KL. I wish the govt will do something about the chaotic run Pudu Raya station! However there is a wonderful part of KL. That is the helpful KL girl, who had help us. What an adventure for me and my gf!

Location is ideal for folks shopping around the Bukit Bintang, Imbi, Jln Sultan areas. Fantastic area for shopping, eating/dining and partying, except for the next caveat. Beware of snatch thefts though!!! Really notorious area for bag-snatching-jokers-on-Honda-C70s! You've been warned!

Try the Tamarind Springs restaurant. It's located about 20Km from the city. A truly unique dining experience. Taxi from the city is 15-20RM. However the restaurant advertises a complimentary bus service, which we read about later.

My wife & I had a pleasant trip, not only in Kuala Lumpur, but also in Genting & Malacca. The 4-km cable car ride along the Genting Skyway was fantastic! Our stamina was tested when we climbed the 250 steps to the Batu Caves. Since we love nature, we enjoyed the walk to the waterfalls. We did enjoy the city tour which included these other places: National Museum/Monument/Mosque, King's Palace, Merdeka Square, KL Towers, Petronas Towers, Chinatown & Suria (KLCC). Last but not least was the historical Malacca. We had a chance to see for ourselves what we read from books & travel brochures. Indeed, our trip was such a pleasant one!

If the traffic is bad KL is a nightmare, but otherwise taxis are reasonable but make sure they use the meter and don't try charging you a fixed price when you get in. The monorail is excellent for getting around the "Golden Triangle" area. Although the monorail goes to KL Sentral Station don't take it if you have luggage, take a taxi, there's lots of stairs and it's a long walk outside when you get there to the main station. The Bird Park is a nice break from the city for a bit of peace and quiet for a few hours.

The hotel is strategically located Jalan Bintang would be an attraction for visitors coming here for shopping paradise cause there are couples of good shopping complex such as Sungei Wang, Bukit Bintang, Low Yat Plaza, Imbi Plaza and Times Square. Another good place for shopping is Mid Valley megamall, can take a taxi from the hotel and will cost you about 5 or 6 ringgit but remember to ask the taxi driver to set the meter prior to abroad the taxi. Should try the roti-boy or roti-papa located at the basement of Low Yat Plaza. Also it is a walking distance, say about 10 minutes from the hotel to Chinatown at the Jalan Petaling. Take the Putra LRT - Pasar Seni station located at Chinatown to KLCC and have a good view of the Petronas Twin Towers as well as shopping at Suria KLCC.

Next door to e-Zone, Malaysia's largest cyber cafe with a special 'game room' (4th floor of the Low Yat Shopping Center) with ATM on the ground floor. Tons of great sidewalk cafes and lots of activity into the night.
