Snorkling trip was good. Chinese restaurant was good. Prices are a bit high.

The Four Seasons in Bali, this is not. But clean, comfortable and enough things to do to keep you occupied, or, just plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to read or snooze beneath.

Snorkelling and fishing were great.

We went snorkling 2 times and had two great days in the water and spotted so many fantastic fish and turtles. We also took the walk in the jungle to the other side of the island, we were told we could take a taxiboat back to Berjaya, but just before we came all the way, a small note said that the taxiboat did no longer go round, so we had to pay a local a lot of mony to get back.

Difficult to get out of the Resort complex - but then again there is little to see or do in Tekek and beyond.

Go to the Lagoon at 8.30 in the morning. The environmental officer for the Island feeds the giant monitor lizards and the incredibly rare White bellied sea Eagle here every morning. Talk to him & look beyond the gates of the resort, go up the mountain on the old army trail and see some of the most beautiful primary rainforest in SE Asia. I saw long tailed macaques, mouse deer, Brominy kites, Drongoes etc etc. Don't worry, It's safe, the cobras only come out at night - trust me!

The island itself is beautiful! The resort is very well kept and clean. The jungle tour was wonderful.

I especially recommend the Island tour. It is a one day tour, price is quite good. The snorkeling equipment is included in the price.

E Ng soo liat 31 May 2000
Stayed at  Hyatt Regency Kuantan - Pahang, Malaysia.
We visited Kuantan town, spent time shopping in the city shopping complex. We were surprised that it has a wide range of interesting items like cothing, T-shirts and bags.

A short drive took us to a waterfall some 18 km away. The water was delightfully cold, a good respite from the hot weather that embraced us in our 3 days in Kuantuan. We dumped the kids into the water together with the locals there, and they had great fun sitting under the waterfall.

Going on to eating, the Bistro restaurant in Hyatt was good especially its spread of hot stone steak and wine. The seafood restaurant on the opposite side of the road was really good as well and definitely a lighter load on the wallet.

The standard restaurants at the hotel were very average, however the Bali High Restaurant was good value for money with much better quality food. Sorry we waited till our last night to try this restaurant.
