Nice place to visit. Take time to do a tour and see Chocolate hills.

No complaints really -- people were friendly, and the sights (Chocolate Hills, Luboc River, tarsier, dolphins near Pamilacan) were wonderful.
BUT -- there must be better ways of going around than by tricycle. Or at least detailed road maps on how to get around that should be available to tourists.

Do not be alarmed by the drive to get there from the dock where the ferry lands. It will take about a half hour to get there, and its hard to tell if you are going back into the middle of nowhere...but relax. It is a relatively secluded place, nice, quiet, relaxed and comfortable.
The hotel will offer a variety of tours...island hopping, visiting the Chocolate Hills, lunch on a floating restaurant, visiting a Spanish Cathedral over 400 years old...caving, diving. Take advantage of all or none. It's worth the few extra dollars you pay to have them arrange these for you over what you could negotiate on your own. You never have concerns over safety with the people they make arrangements for you with.
Not a whole lot as far as nightlife goes, it's the place to take that special someone, and has a wonderful romantic ambience for those wanting to spend time together in the middle of wonderland.

A bit too quiet even for me but I guess I was there at the wrong time of year. There was nobody there and the weather was not too good.

Diving in Bohol is a nice experience especially the instructor and dive master are very helpful and really doing their best. However, it's very annoying when we tried to have lunch or take a break on the beach of Balicasag because almost all women of the island came to sell souvenir and some of them even came up to our boat! It would be much better if they make some souvenir booths on the beach and visitors can go and have a look by their own free will instead of trying to escape!

Bohol is very nice - much nicer than Cebu which is crowded, deforested, and noisy. Beach at the Bohol Beach Club is good - my wife loved it. I went to Logarita Forest Station 3d running for birding - good forest; fine birding. The Club arranged transportation - punctual, comfortable, safe, cheap. Cars were waiting at 04.30 - drive was about 1.5h each way.
