R Sobotka 08 November 2002
Stayed at  Costa Da Caparica, Hotel - Lisbon - Surroundings, Portugal.
The Europamar restaurant (recommended by the hotel staff) was excellent.

L Balfour 18 October 2002
Stayed at  Pestana Dom Joao II Hotel - Algarve, Portugal.
Really liked Alvor although I was amazed how much building work is taking place. I think in a few year's time the Algarve will be unrecognisable from what it once was.

R Hart 14 October 2002
Stayed at  Fatima - Fatima & Surroundings, Portugal.
Fatima was unique, I've never seen another place quite like it. The feast was on so the timing of our holiday was perfect. The atmosphere was incredible. But if you are not religious then there is nothing to do.

S Waters 30 August 2002
Stayed at  Da Cartuxa, Hotel - Evora / Alentejo Area, Portugal.
We had an excellent dinner at the hotel restaurant, I'd highly recommend it to future guests.

P Mager 02 August 2002
Stayed at  Grande Hotel De Luso - Coimbra & Surroundings, Portugal.
nice small city, close to bussaco forest (beautifull park), exelent weather for touring.

H Naudi 09 July 2002
Stayed at  Grande Hotel De Luso - Coimbra & Surroundings, Portugal.
We stayed for one short night but Bussaco Forest was worth a visit and the Lourencoes (?) Restaurant just round the corner was excellent - it was recommended by the Hotel.

P Clemens 18 June 2002
Stayed at  Carvoeiro Sol, Hotel - Algarve, Portugal.
Carvoeiro is a small village with a good beach and is a friendly place, very good for families or adults -- not a place for the "clubbing" fraternity! All sorts of restaurants to suit all tastes and price ranges (the only "flavour" missing seems to be Thai cuisine); it seems that the Tourist Menu option (which was excellent value when available -- we have been to Carvoeiro 4 times so far) is being phased-out, so a la carte pricing is now the norm.

Recommended restaurants are:-
Via Italia -- pricey but excellent Italian food, with a canopied terrace;always busy!
O Cantinho -- mid-range prices;good local dishes and friendly service
Galleria -- eating in a garden setting (but some of the flowers are synthetic!);good value in lower price range.
Bon Bon (at Ses Marias,a 10 minute taxi ride out of Carvoeiro) -- 5-star cuisine with high class service; has a wonderful view of sunsets over the Serra Monchique mountain range to the North.
China Town -- eat-in or takeaway; both equally good Most bars have satellite TV and show main sporting events.

V Rosenberg 13 May 2002
Stayed at  Lutecia, Hotel - Lisbon, Portugal.
Lisbon is a pleasant place to stay few days.

N Emery 06 May 2002
Stayed at  Eva - Faro, Portugal.
Plenty of small bars and restaurants, mainly specialising in fish/seafood.

C Yeung 11 April 2002
Stayed at  Lutecia, Hotel - Lisbon, Portugal.
The taxi driver cheated us when we went to the hotel from the airport. He charged us nearly 20 Euros and changed us some Portugese coins which are no longer in use.
