The hotel is not very far from the ferry terminal. Department stores (Robinson & Ramayana), only a couple minutes walking.

Visited Nagoya Town and shopped at Ramayana and Robinson. Things are cheap, especially with the Indonesian Rupiah at 5200 to 1 Singapore Dollar. Harris Resort (as do most other hotels) provide shuttle service to major destinations within Batam at reasonable rates.

Best Nasi Padang with the green chili. Seafood is the best. Shopping is much cheaper. I hire a regular driver from Batam for shopping and Makan if I am there.

Southlinks offers a pleasant forgiving golf course. Facilities are good and staff professional.

There is a string of cheap eateries and small shops a couple of hundred metres down the road from Harris -- nothing special there. The almost-attached restaurant was out of almost everything on the menu -- nothing special there either. The overpriced and oversized Holiday Inn ("inn"?) a kilometer or so past the string of shops and eateries has an excellent restaurant, though. But be prepared to pay far, far more for your food there than at Harris.

If you want to have Japanese food, I recommend 'Kurino-ya' in the Harmony hotel.
