It would be advisable not to go in December. We spent 2 whole days indoors because of the rainy monsoon season. Fortunately, Angsana has sisters such as Laguna Bintan and Banyan Tree which meant we could visit these other resorts' restaurants and gift shops. Transport to these places were free.

We spent the entire weekend relaxing in the resort and did not travel around Bintan but from what we saw on the way in and out, there is not much to do in Bintan except golf and beach.
We took the ferry from Singapore... pretty much the only complaint for the whole weekend was the mad dash for the ferry conducted by people which left a bad taste in the mouth (nothing as sad as watching people lose all sense of common decency for seats... of which there were plenty).

No need to plan visits outside the resort, just relax in the room. Getting around is definitely not a problem, you can expect the most friend and helpful people there.

As usual, the resort offered all the facilites for a holiday, so there was no need to explore Bintan Island. The two excursions we took were a trip to the Ole Ole shopping village (very much for tourists) and Saturday night at the Mana Mana resort open air disco.

Bintan is a great place to get away from it all. Restaurants in the resorts offer a wide selection of foods at reasonable prices.

As mentioned above we did not really get out of the resort itself. Bintan looks really nice and we would definitely come back and hopefully have more time to look around.
