The Lei Garden just across the street in the Chijme restaurant complex is a top notch Chinese restaurant. Very stylish and superb service.

Next door to Raffles, great for afternoon drinks, and literally on top of a shopping centre. Went to Sentosa island, which was good for sightseeing and doing the 'tourist' thing, e.g. cable car, mono rail around the island, aquarium, dolphin park.

Stayed at Traders Hotel Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.

I was in Singapore on business so did not take any tours. The Tanglin Mall restaurants are convenient to the Traders Hotel and not as crowded as those on Orchard Street. The supermarket on the lower level is also convenient for picking up bottled water and snacks. There are some fast food places that are easy to use if traveling with children and although The Food Court was closed for renovation when I was last there, when it was open it provided a convenient place to eat if one is in a hurry or for families with young children.

Stayed at Banyu Biru Villas - Bintan Island (Indonesia), Singapore.
|
The villas (Banyu Biru) are within easy walking distance of the main hotel (Nirwana) which has restaurants and another beautiful pool. A short distance further you can reach Mana Mana beach from where you can organise watersports. All are in the same complex, so you can sign for meals and activities. (No cash needed). From Nirwana - shuttle buses are arranged to various restaurants -including a seafood one on stilts which has great food and is spectacular at sunset as it is built over the sea. You can also take a regular shuttle bus to a nearby shopping village to pick up souvenirs.

Stayed at Panorama Regency Hotel - Batam Island (Indonesia), Singapore.
|
There is a padang food stall behind the hotel (along the Panorama Residence's side) which we had no time to try and a deli cafe which will be opened soon behind the hotel (at the left side of hotel). Those who like the beaches at Nongsa or Turi beach, it's only 30 minutes away.

In Singapore we visited Singapore Zoo which is one of the best in the world. We also went to China Town and had great Dim Sum at restaurant called Dim Sum. Great shopping in China Town! Also we went to Holland Village (about 5-8 minutes taxi ride) and the second floor of Cold Storage is filled with great shops! If you are staying in Orchard Road and want to get something quick and good food, I would recommend the basement Food Court of Takashimaya dept store where you can get all kinds of food (quick food) and they are great!

Stayed at Panorama Regency Hotel - Batam Island (Indonesia), Singapore.

We took the hotel's Limo and the driver was a nice person. We went to Waterfront (40min drive) where there are a lot of water sport activities like water-ski, banana-boat ride, para sailing and also boat rides to surrounding islands. We can also look at the beautiful sunset while eating at the restaurant or simply by taking a ride on a boat. We can also fly a plane at the Flying Club. We also went to the newly opened DC Mall where a lot of discounts were provided. There are also other shopping malls that offer fantastic discounts. We went to the famous restaurant which provides sumptuous seafood dishes at a very low price.

Take a tour of the battlebox that takes you back to the fall of Singapore in 1943 and the surrender to the Japanese, a very good and realistic attraction and an important part of Singapore's history.

Make sure you take the river boat ride at night. Singapore's skyline is very beautiful at night and the cost of the ride (which lasts 30 minutes) is only S$15 for adults and S$8 for kids over 2.
