Stayed at  City Swiss Q Hotel - Interlaken, Switzerland.
Interlaken (West) is really good as a central point to stay, if you want to do say one day trips to other cities and points of interest of Swiss.

Stayed at  Goldey Swiss Q Hotel - Interlaken, Switzerland.
Interlaken is nice--biking around the lake takes longer than it would seem. Meat fondue is in no way worth the money.

Stayed at  Best Western Hotel Montana - Zurich, Switzerland.
Not much to see in Zurich. After the quaint alps towns, Zurich is big and dirty. The frankmunster and gross munster make good sightseeing spots. A walk along bahnhoffstrasse to check out all the shops is a must. The tram service is excellent and is a good way to get around the city. The swiss rail pass is accepted on the trams.

Stayed at  Chalet-Hotel Oberland - Interlaken, Switzerland.
Interlaken in itself doesn't have much to offer for itself but is an excellent base to visit towns nearby. We stayed at Interlaken for a couple of days. On day one, we visited Bern which is an hour away from Interlaken. Bern is a nice medieval town with a great mail street full of fountains and a very inresting clock tower. The munster or the cathedral is beautiful. Just walking along the main street for ambience is fun. That evening we went to Thun. Thun is not touristy so it's a good place to get a feel for local life. The main street is nice for a stroll and the rathaus is a good place for a stroll. It's nice to have cappucino in a cafe by the canal. The next day we did Jungfraujoch the tallest in Europe. The train ride was very picturesque and the views for the top were truly majestic. That same evening we did the garden town of Spiez which is 15 min away from Interlaken. This small little town was so pretty that it took our breath away.

Stayed at  Monopol Luzern, Hotel - Lucerne, Switzerland.
Lucerne is a small quaint town, a total must see if you are in Switzerland. The town is so small that you can walk it down. Highlights are the city wall, lion monument and the kapelbrucke. The downtown is beautiful with its 15th century buildings with painted facades. From Lucerne, you can also do Mount Titlis for which you take a train to Engelberg and take a tram up. The Italian places by the lake are superb though exorbitant.

Stayed at  Senator - Zurich, Switzerland.
Zurich is a great city to visit...particularly the ride on the lake. Among places to visit are the Rhine Falls, Mount Titalus and the incredible Mystery Park at Interlocken. All these places and several more are only a few hours (mostly less than 2 hrs.) of train travel from Zurich station. So one can visit many places in and around Zurich in a day and return to Hotel Senator for rest and quiet.

Stayed at  Monopol Luzern, Hotel - Lucerne, Switzerland.
I highly recommend checking out the tobogganning at Pilatus. You can catch the number one bus which is virtually opposite the hotel. This takes you up to Pilatis, well is a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. There you can go up on the gondala and tobogan all the way back down, takes approximately 2 - 3 hours. Excellent fun, highly recommended, certainly blows the cobwebs away after a night out!!

Stayed at  Best Western Hotel Montana - Zurich, Switzerland.
For a good day out, drive to Lucern and take a day trip on the lake to Brunnen and then catch the train back to Lucern.

Stayed at  De La Paix - Lausanne, Switzerland.
The bus/metro system is comprehensive, and traveller can go anywhere using them. I suggest buying a pass for 1-7 days, depending on need. Places to visit include Ouchy, Lutry. Hiring a car is another possibility...not too difficult, there is an Avis by train station. By doing so, one can visit the many vineyards and small mountain towns in the area. Problem would be parking near hotel.

Stayed at  Park Inn Zurich Airport - Zurich, Switzerland.
A half day tour is ok for Zurich. Not as beautiful as the other part of Switzerland.
