We visited a couple of places of interest by night as I had a friend living in Bangkok and plan to do more tours the next time round as I had found out that there are many places to see. Getting around is absolutely easy and safe with the "tuk tuk" and taxi as I prefer the taxi coz they go on meter charge and you are sure you don't get overcharged as sometimes when the tuk tuk sees that you are a tourist they try to rip you off on their suggested fares although you could bargain but I reckon to save your arguing and spoil your holiday just go with taxi!
One of the fabulous restaurant with really good gourmet food was at the Hyatt at Spasso for me...italian yummy! And also they had a good live band playing and it was really entertaining and I would recommend this place highly!
Lots of shopping and bring along an extra luggage I would say or buy another when you are there as there's really good stuff to buy at the right places! Would recommend the Suan Lum Night bazaar which is on daily till almost 1.00am except for sundays its till 11.00pm and also the popular MBK (Ma Boon Kong) hope it's spelt correctly, place with lots of stuff and you need at least 4 hours or more and you could really bargain sometimes with a smile and a little hassling you can get by with the price you ask for...so recommended!

Stayed at Baiyoke Sky Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.

We went to Chatuchak weekend market and it certainly lives up to its name as one of the largest outdoor market in the world. Suan Lum night bazaar was okay, but quite a number of stalls have vacated and the place was pretty quiet. The Joe Louis Theatre restaurant has pretty good ambience and food and is worth a visit.

Trip to Wat Pho and the Grand Palace definitely worth it. Patpong was an experience in itself but must be done when in Bangkok! A real gem was a drink at the 'Moon Bar' on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel - it's outside so weather permitting but a fantastic experience - take the camera!

I definitely suggest the "Bua Restaurant" inside the Riverfront Residence building. A must for Thai food lovers.

Stayed at White House Hotel, The - Samui, Thailand.

We went on a tour - Anthong Marine Park - which was a group of unspoilt islands. We did snorkelling and sea kayaking. Lovely and relaxing. We went with a company called Sea Safari. The down side was it was a 2 hour trip to get over which wasn't told beforehand. Canopy adventures was another tour which could be booked in Chaweng where you swung on ropes in the jungle! The children loved it. We hired a car and toured the island - very interesting. We travelled mostly by taxis which were easy to get and inexpensive. The beach restaurants by the White House hotel were cheap and good.

Wireless (Witayoo) Road is an excellent downtown location. Easy access to Skytrain and adjoining shopping and restaurant districts: Siam Square, Robinsons Department store, Emporium complex (Phrom Phong).

Stayed at Thavorn Beach Village - Phuket, Thailand.
|
Patong Village just 5 minutes away by taxi, so all the bars, restaurants and shopping you'll need and more! Savoy restaurant was particularly good.
Phuket Phantasea show was pretty good, although the theme park itself was slightly cheesy. A Boat trip to Phi Phi for some snorkelling was definitely one of the highlights.

Stayed at Asia Bangkok Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.

After you get off from the BTS, you will see the small restaurant named "Steak and Thai food". The price of food is reasonable. If you would like to see movies, EGV cinemas at Siam Discovery is a good idea. Try Gold Class!!!

Pattaya is normally not the first choice for our trips out of Bangkok. It is loud, dirty and filled up with disgusting Bars and their custommers. If I will spent a family vacation, I wouln't go there with kids. If you are looking for cheap shopping don't buy at the stalls or try to bargain 50% off. If you have the possibility, go for shopping to Bangkok to the Suan Lum Nightmarket at Rama IV or go down to Jomtien, where you also can find T- Shirts, souvernirs and all that things.
In Jomtien there are some nice Restaurants to and you can go there with your kids, cause there are not that girlie bars as in Pattaya. If you like clean water and white beaches make a trip to Kho Lan, a little island opposite of Pattaya. Go there, to the backside of the island and you will never believe that you are near Pattaya. If you have a car, take your kids to Sri Racha to the tiger zoo. This is a real nice place for the whole family, where you can spent easy a whole day. Or go to Chonburi Marina, there you can join the Dolphin show and if you like you can swim together with the Dolphins. This trip takes 45 min. by car.
