There isn't a lot to see in Nha Trang, but the beach is a change. The resort the Ana Mandara has a nice gift shop and good for a meal but very pricey. Ladies - do not walk around at night. We had an unpleasant experience on the beach with a local (during the day).

The beach didn't look very enticing and after a single 10 minute swim in the violent surf breaks, my original assumption of the beach was very well validated. The hot springs about 2 km north of Nha Trang was very relaxing and great value for money, the mud baths were so well enjoyed I went back there for a second time.
As expected, Nha Trang is essentially a party town, a Mama Han Green Hat boat tour was very well enjoyed and every night of our stay in Nha Trang was spent at the Crazy Kim's bar and the Nha Trang Sailing Club partying with other travelers till the 'wee' hours of the morning.

A walk around the harbour and visit Cham temple is very nice.
And a boat trip for snorkelling and bathing is a must (we went with Mama Linh - very good).

Only go to Nha Trang if you need to spend some time on the beach after all your cultural travels in Vietnam. There's not much else to do.

Mainly chilled on the beach and on apartment balcony. The market was fun, Viet-Lac was a great souvenir shop.

Free shuttle back and forth to airport, only five minute trip. Needs to have hotel phone number in case the hotel does not know your arrival time.

There is a natural hot spring near Nha Trang where for just over US$3 you can enjoy 15 minutes soaking in mineral mud, and then 13 minutes in a tub of hot spring water drawn directly from the spring, and then have a massage by hard jet streams of the mineral water. You then have unlimited access to a swimming pool filled with the hot spring water. A towel is supplied and there are massage facilities and a restaurant on site.
