Stayed at Langkawi Village Resort - Langkawi, Malaysia.

Langkawi is excellent for a sun-and-bathing holiday. Nice tax-free prices on most items. Visited the aquarium and the recently opened cable car to the second highest mountain on the island, both worth the trip. The capital Kuha was a bit boring.
Consider using taxi instead of renting a car, better off if you don't want tour the entire island. Moody's Place near Langawi Village Resort is recommended for breakfast.

The Tanjung Rhu Resort is really quite beautiful, the hotel is located overlooking a half moon shaped white sandy beach with 3 very small islands to look at. The water is pure aqua marine blue. The pool area is really one of the best I have ever seen, there is lots of shade, lots of greenery and plant life and the view from the pool is fantastic.
We ate only at the hotel so cannot comment on any other restaurants in the area. The tours on offer are quite good but a little on the pricey side - after all this is Malaysia - however, saying that all the water sports facilities are very good and we were very glad to see how safety conscious the water sports guys were. I would definitely recommend this resort - the all inclusive package is very good value for money. If you want to go somewhere peaceful with a beautiful white sand beach and a pale blue sea then this is the place for you.

Langkawi is a wonderful island to visit. This is better for visitor to rent a car and tour around. For island hopping, can go to the jetty straight away and bargain the price. This is better price than you take from the tour agent.

The cable car ride was quite a spectacular experience with wonderful views of the sea and mountains. We got around the island in a hired car which was relatively inexpensive (RM60 per day).

Eagle Feading & Manglove tours are nice. It's was really nice. Langkawi is Duty free, but I recommend you to buy tobaccos in city area. The airport's DFS were little bit higher than city.

The island hopping tour of 3 islands remains the most impressing experience of a stay in the Langkawi Islands.
