There are some very good sea food restaurants near the hotel on the sea side. Don't forget to stock up on the duty free here as Langkawi is a duty free island.

Langkawi is a very good place to spend a holiday. Compared to Bali this place is very quiet and you will not be offended by agressive hasslers who are trying to sell you things you do not need.

Kg Tok Senik is 10 minutes drive from Kuah town for a shopping extravaganza.Pantai Cenang is also about 10 minutes drive away for guests to indulge into local sea food and it has lovely beaches for fantastic sunbathing.

Langkawi is a beautiful place to visit. We were there for the Ironman Malaysia and the whole race course was superb. We visited the usual tourist spots such as as the Underwater World, the Waterfalls, the Craft Museum and the Galerie Museum, which were all great. We discovered a good restaurant called Dominos which catered more to the Western taste.

Kuah is nice shopping area, not good for longer stayings because there is no nice beach.
They have nice restaurants over there and some good shopping centers. But it is all a long way from this hotel, because it is outside.

There is lots to see on the Island. Rent a Suzuki 4x4 from the resort and enjoy the sights. Very clean countryside compared to some other islands I have been to.

Langkawi is a great place. 4-6 days is plenty of time to spend there. Not much to do outside of relaxing in the sun.

Malaysia ,My wife and I had a splendid holiday,THE first three days spent at the Park Plaza Hotel in KL ,very good hotel close to the centre of city, good restaurants in hotel and close by. Moved to the Ferringi Beach hotel Penang an excellent hotel, food first class, would recommend this hotel to any holidaymaker going to Penang. As stated above would NOT recommend the Lanai Beach resort langkawi. We moved to the Pelangi Beach Resort, this is a world class hotel ,the staff at this hotel were very attentive and very happy, my wife and I will return to this hotel the next time that we visit Langkawi

Langkawi is, as yet, still an unspoilt series of Islands but (horror of horrors!) the Government has plans to spoil it all by developing it as their main holiday destination. It is essential to hire a bike or car to have the freedom to see as much of this fascinating place as one can in the time available. There are tours available, but we did not try them. People are extremely friendly. There is an excellent choice of food at great prices provided one does get out and about.
